A Spanish company is preparing a proposal for the second phase of the SME Instrument, in the topic ‘Health and Wellbeing’. The project aims at developing and validating a radically new caregiver application to empower and motivate people in need of guidance and care due to age related conditions. The company is looking for partners with access to test subjects in order to validate and demonstrate the product within a large community of elders and health professionals.
A Spanish company, a nursing home, provides specialized healthcare and residential services to elderly patients with a customized approach. In this line, the company has designed and implemented an innovative caregiver software application in order to provide personalised advice, guidance and follow-up for key age related issues in daily life which impact the person's ability to remain active and independent, for example diet, physical activity, risk avoidance, preventive measures, lifestyle and activity management, leisure, social participation and overall wellness.
The goal of this radically new caregiver software will be to preserve physical, cognitive, mental and social well-being for as long as possible and to facilitate interaction with carers (where relevant).
Seniors are at risk of age related impairments such as poor health, cognitive impairment, frailty and social exclusion with considerable negative consequences for their independence, quality of life (that of those who care for them) and for the sustainability of health and care systems.
In order to support older people in ordinary daily life at home and in care facilities, the project will be driven by the needs, interests and lifestyles of older people. The project will provide a sense of stability and comfort, and reduce the burden on caregivers in time and labour costs.
The company is looking for a partner that acts as demonstrator. In this way, the sought partner should have access to a relevant number of test subjects. Therefore, the partner should be working in an elderly-related field, such as health professionals, care providers, nursing homes, hospitals, universities, assisting living facilities, etc.
