The company is based in the United Kingdom where they design, manufacture and supply spreader beams for lifting, lifting beams, spreader frames and other below the hook heavy lifting equipment.
They concentrate on the provision of both off-the-shelf products, and custom engineered solutions.
They are looking for a suitable company that can manufacture these products on their behalf on the basis of a manufacturing agreement.
The UK based company are specialist lifting engineers, designing heavy below the hook lifting equipment, to satisfy a global market base. They have an established range of core products, and an innovative new product development pipeline.
They concentrate on the provision of custom lifting equipment such as spreader beams, lifting beams, spreader frames and other heavy lifting equipment that operate between the hook and the load that is being carried.
To meet increased customer demand the company is seeking manufacturing opportunities within Europe and the UK primarily, however they are open to alternative locations, such as Asia and the Middle East. They are seeking manufacturing partners to satisfy the following areas:
1. Manufacture and painting (ready for final product dispatch) of their standard product ranges - from manufacturers located outside the UK only.
2. Manufacture and painting (ready for final product dispatch) of their ongoing project works and custom engineered solutions (from UK and non UK manufacturers).
- Type of partner sought: The manufacturing partners must be skilled heavy steel fabricators with access to high quality raw materials (reputable mill), have coded welders working to BS EN 3834-2 or 3 (WQMS), shot blast and painting facilities and suitably rated (5-10t) overhead cranes for lifting the components once manufactured.
The partner must be a direct manufacturer for traceability and accountability purposes, with a proven track record and portfolio in heavy steel fabrication.
No middle agents or brokers will be considered.
The partner must be willing to keep the UK company's intellectual property safe, through a non-disclosure agreement, and no conflicts of interest can be present (i.e. selling own similar products).
A valid and in date ISO 9001 (Quality Management System) certificate would be required as a minimum.
ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) and OH&S 18001 (Health & Safety Management System) Certification would be ideal. Without these, proof of the manufacturers own environmental & safety systems would be required, and to a satisfactory standard.
The suitable partner will need to manufacture quality assured lifting products to the highest specifications. To ensure this quality, all products will comply with the relevant standards as detailed below:
UK & European Compliance:
BS EN 13155: 2003+A2:2009: Cranes – Safety – Non-fixed load lifting attachments
DNV Standard for Certification No. 2.22 Lifting Appliances 2011
LOLER: 1998 (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations)
PUWER: 1998 (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations)
EC Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC
ASME B30.20: 2013 – Below-the-Hook Lifting Devices
ASME BTH-1:2011 – Design of Below-the-Hook-Lifting-Devices
AS 4991: 2004 – Lifting Devices DNV Standard for Certification
- Specific area of activity of the partner: The UK company would welcome expressions of interest from any sub-contract manufacturers who meet the initial quality assurance description and technical specifications as outlined in this profile.
Further discussions would then follow in accordance with their supply assurance procedures; the opportunity would be made available to quote for live works or repeat customer requests, upon satisfactory completion.
Important: the UK company would like to partner with white label manufacturers only: that is a manufacturer that does not go to the market themselves selling these type of products, but instead only manufacture for intermediaries.
The role of the partner will be to manufacture, fabricate and paint the equipment (spreader beams, lifting beams and spreader frames) for the UK company
