Looking for new wellness products and services for nursing homes

An innovative Care Group with 3500 elderly residents spread across 12 nursing homes in the south of the Netherlands, is looking for partners to co-create and -develop new wellness products and services in the frame of a technical cooperation agreement or a services agreement.
This request refers to an innovation challenge published on an open innovation platform.

An innovative Care Group is active in the field of elderly care in the south of the Netherlands. They have 2000 employees and 1400 volunteers and provide care to approximately 3500 elderly people. They have 12 nursing home locations, a hospice and provide home care.
The wellness sector continues to grow in the Netherlands. However it is not aimed at the group of nursing home residents which now consists of 115 thousand people.
Over time the Care Group has been observing a gradual change in the status of their residents. Today, older people in nursing homes are often suffering from advanced dementia.
The current offer for wellbeing in nursing homes is based on an outdated idea of daytime activities and has not sufficiently anticipated the changes in the intramural target group.
An offer of relaxation and exercise that demonstrably contributes to mental and physical well-being is hardly available. There is a need for new products and services that match the increasing demand.
The Care Group has the ambition to make the range of complementary care and sensory therapy in nursing homes more personalized and future-proof.

Where to contribute
The Group is looking for an innovative wellness concept for nursing home residents and a partner with whom they can jointly develop such a concept.
They are looking for creative entrepreneurs with the ambition to have a social impact.
By means of co-innovation they wish to work on products that meet the needs of their nursing home residents and in this way contribute to their well-being.

Why not miss this challenge
- Become a forerunner in the growth market of preventive wellness in elderly care.
- In the care sector a shift is taking place from curative to preventive care in which (preventive) wellness fits well.
- Activities aimed at relaxation and exercise have a proven effect on the well-being of the elderly and contribute to happiness in life.
- Extensive opportunities to do market validation and to market a product that is based on the needs and problems of the clients.
- Links with other cooperation partners.

Cooperation is envisioned within the frame of a technical cooperation agreement or a services agreement but other forms of cooperation may also be considered.
