A German startup has developed a highly autonomous vertical take-off and landing, fixed wing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). A fuel cell and a low structure weight allow a high payload (up to 10 kg) and a long range (up to 700 km). This can be used for inspection, maintenance and surveillance of large infrastructures or the surveying of transport networks. They are now looking for companies that are active in these fields and want to enter into a research or technical cooperation agreement.
The German startup provides a highly autonomous vertical take-off and landing (no additional infrastructure necessary) UAV with fixed wing and long-range for easy flight approval and for all kinds of applications. Using a highly developed safety concept they offer the most secure UAV in this market segment that is currently available. A fuel cell is used as a range extender as well as a low structure weight, allowing high payload (up to 10 kg) and long range (up to 700 km). The fully electric propulsion allows flying also near inhabited areas due to low noise emission.
The UAV system can be used for the follwing applications:
- Disaster management (fire, flood, earthquake etc.)
- Inspection of large infrastructure (power lines, oil pipelines,
offshore street and railroad networks etc.)
- Military surveillance
- Law enforcement
- Medical and general transport
- Surveying
As the German company is just a growing startup the UAV system can still be tailored to the needs of the customer and a very close cooperation in the first projects can be offered.
For the first projects it is planned to develop a very slow flying UAV especially designed for inspection, maintenance, surveillance of large infrastructure or surveying of transport networks.
In the future it is planned to modify the UAV to fit them according to the needs of the customers. The following specifications will be offered:
Heavy payload (up to 10 kg)
High range (up to 700 km)
High endurance (up to 6 h)
Low noise emission due to fully electric propulsion
Low maximum take-off weight (35 kg)
Several mechanic and electric redundancies
Complete rescue system (included in the empty weight)
120 W (12 V) constant energy supply for customer/payload use
Large cargo area up to size (LxWxH) 360 mm x 200 mm x 85 mm
A set of data links (2.4 GHz, satellite communication, LTE)
They are now looking for partners for a technical and/or research agreement in order to adapt the UAV system with appropriate sensors to the needs of potential customers. Within these cooperations the UAV systems should be tested under real-life conditions.
- Type of partner sought: The German startup is looking for companies that are active in the following fields: Inspection, maintenance, surveillance/surveying of large infrastructure or transport networks. If the partner is active in one of the above-mentioned fields, he should know which service or task is necessary for his activities. The corresponding sensor may be supplied by the customer or the customer defines the sensor and the German company supplies it.
- Specific area of activity of the partner: The company is looking for large companies that want to automate their processes in the following fields:
Inspection, maintenance, surveillance/surveying of large infrastructure or transport networks.
Such companies are sought to test the company´s unmanned aerial vehicle and the appropriate sensor system for further use under real-life conditions through a technical agreement or a research cooperation agreement.
Under development/lab tested - The tests are carried out with two full-scale prototypes. Following the time schedule the development should be finished in Q2 2021.
Secret Know-how,Patent(s) applied for but not yet granted,Trade Marks - An international patent has been applied for, but which countries shall finally be included has up to now not been decided.
