A UK company and one of the largest stockists of parts and spares for boats up to 24 meters long is looking for new suppliers.
They are offering to be a distributor of mechanical parts to companies that would consider offering exclusive UK distribution and/or permit the company to apply their own brand.
The UK company has a large UK customer base of both retail and commercial customers. The company’s ambitions and current plans are to grow sales to existing and new commercial customers in the UK that build, repair or maintain boats.
They pride themselves on fast delivery and outstanding customer service and have won a number of awards from their local chamber of commerce in recognition of this.
Their products cover a wide range from engine spares, gear boxes, steering parts and controls, hydraulics, lighting, valves, pumps, and seals. They do not offer electronic products.
Products are sourced mainly from Europe and they are now looking for further suppliers of mechanical boat parts. The UK company would like partners that are willing to offer distribution agreements and ideally exclusive UK distribution in order to increase sales to existing and new clients and add to their existing product range.
The company places orders on a forecasted basis and prefers to hold 3 months stock at any one time. They are fully aware with factory lead times and transportation times.
- Type of partner sought: The UK company is looking for suppliers that can provide marine certified products. However they will consider other good quality products if they fit with their existing product range. They would prefer to work with established versatile suppliers.
- Specific area of activity of the partner: Ideally they are looking for suppliers that would be able to offer the company exclusive UK distribution. They are also looking for suppliers that would agree to sell their existing products non-branded so that they can apply the UK company’s own brand.
Providing either exclusive UK distribution or permitting the company to apply their own brand will allow suppliers to reach a “ready –made” and growing customer base in the UK through this established business.
This UK company has been established for over 25 years in the marine sector and is a member of British Marine, an organisation which support and promotes the industry. It is one of the largest stockists of mechanical parts and spares suitable for commercial and leisure boats up to 24 meters.
A large part of its client base is made of commercial trade customers who tend to provide repeat orders.
The company’s internal systems are designed to meet ISO 2008 if required.
