A UK company has developed novel material combinations and techniques for the production of highly protective bags and cases for areas such as action sports, hobbies and the security services. They are seeking to license textile manufacturers or assemblers to use their patent pending technology to produce the bags and cases. The partners must have the capability of sewing together large components with long arm sewing machines, via manufacturing and licensing agreements.
Current padded bags for high end equipment protect the goods to a certain degree, but this is usually not adequate in high stress environments, such as air travel or in the field.
The UK company has selected a novel combination of cutting edge materials that, when used in conjunction with their unique designs, provide much-improved protection that will dramatically reduce the damage to high-end equipment in situations like travel or in the emergency services.
The UK company has multiple leads from brands and other customers who don't have their own manufacturing capabilities.
The company want to licence OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) in the EU via licensing agreements and the UK company will then introduce new customers to the manufacturer to form manufacturing agreements.
- Type of partner sought: The company is looking for textile manufacturers and assemblers who have the scale and capability to sew together bags ranging from 0.3m long by 0.2m wide up to 3.5m long by 0.7m wide.
Long reach sewing machines will be an advantage.
The expected annual volumes are 3000 bags or more.
- Specific area of activity of the partner: Type: Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)
Activity: Bag assembly
Specific role of the partner: Assembly and manufacture of novel sports bags to design specifications, via licensing agreement with the UK company
There is a patent pending as regards the material combinations and techniques of the bags to be manufactured by the company.
They have a unique combination of materials to use in their bags, which are, however, still easily sewn by typical industrial sewing equipment.
The bags that the company has designed have been tested and by all accounts have advantages that early test customers have indicated are superior.
The company believes the product has large growth potential and is looking for partners to grow with it.
