A Belgian company, with production facilities in Eastern Europe, has developed a clip-on current sensor that performs a contactless and thus non-intrusive measurement of low DC (and AC) currents.

The technology is fit for demanding environments (noise, vibration, dust, temperature, ...), and the sensor is easily redesigned to fit many applications. The current design is aimed at the automotive aftermarket. Technological feasability has been establised and a patent application is filed.

The company now wants to broaden the application portfolio of the developed sensor technology. It is therefore interested in meeting industrial partners in other technological sectors looking for a simple and cost-effective current sensor solution. The company offers the design and testing of custom sensors to the requirements of the customers' applications, and also provides the subsequent volume manufacturing.

The company is part of a large industrial group, and has more than 30 years of experience in the field of automation and control of industrial production machines in demanding environments. Thanks to this, the company owns and has access to state-of-the-art development, production and testing facilities, including complete traceability for quality assurance.

The clip-on design allows for easy installation on existing cabling, enabling easy retrofitting/upgrading of existing installations. The sensor is highly sensitive, so that it can detect small AC and DC currents in a reliable way without calibration.
