The European Commission is organising the conference 'Food for the 21st Century: The Impact of EU Research upon European Food and Safety' on the 8th July 2010, at the European Parliament.

The conference is dedicated to the presentation of results from the study 'Assessing the overall impact of Priority 5-Food Quality and Safety under FP6' conducted by IDEA Consult-Cowil Denmark.

During the event, the following projects will be presented:
ISAFRUIT: Increasing fruit consumption through a trans-disciplinary approach delivering high quality produce from environmentally friendly, sustainable production methods

  • EUFRESHBAKE: Freshly baked breads with improvement of nutritional quality and low energy-demanding for the benefit of the consumer and of the environment
  • HEALTHGRAIN: Exploiting bioactivity of European Cereal Grains for Improved Nutrition and Health benefits
  • MONIQA: Towards the harmonisation of analytical methods for monitoring quality and safety in the food chain
  • ECNIS: Environmental cancer risk, nutrition and individual susceptibility
  • EUROFIR: European food information resource network
  • AQUAMAX: Sustainable aquafeeds to maximise the health benefits of farmed fish for consumers
  • EPIZONE: Network on epizootic disease diagnosis and control.

The deadline for registrations is 28th June 2010 and there are only a limited number of places available so applications will be accepted on a 'first come, first served' basis.
