An eruption buried ancient Akrotiri on the island of Santorini and may have even accelerated the decline of the Minoan culture. Today, societies remain vulnerable to climate changes, rising sea levels, and natural disasters.

The brokerage event will run in parallel to "Hydrogen & Fuel Cells for Clean Cities, vehicles and buildings" organised by a consortium of public sector and research bodies from the West Midlands.
This year's brokerage event builds on the success of last year's event which facilitated a whole afternoon of one-to-one meetings between industrial, research and public sector organisations from 9 countries.
It is envisaged that the brokerage event will facilitate technical and commercial cooperation as well as partnerships for the EU 7th Framework Programme and the Joint Technology Initiative (JTI).
