Augmented reality (AR) is a term for a live direct or indirect view of a real world environment whose elements are supplemented with, or augmented by, computer generated imagery. Augmented reality and virtual worlds are long standing topics in their own right. MOBEA 2010 will focus on the topic of the convergence between augmented reality, virtual interactivity, and the Web. How can these new interaction paradigms be integrated into the platform of the Web and more importantly evolve to be as open and inclusive as the Web? Additionally, there are currently diverging technologies and no standards for AR. This could lead to consumer confusion and industry gridlock. The objective of this workshop is to provide a single forum for researchers and technology experts to discuss the latest in four widely-defined areas: 20/06/2010 - 25/06/2010 Acquafredda di Maratea, Italy During the last decade, the scientific and political landscape of marine biotechnology has fundamentally changed. Each conference day will open with a plenary session with keynote presentations, followed by parallel sessions of oral papers, roundtable discussions and symposia reflecting particular themes of interest. The event is also an opportunity for risk analysts to come together to discuss issues, problems, goals and future research questions. New areas for risk analysis are emerging and new disciplines are contributing to the ongoing debate about risk analysis and management. 22/06/2010 - 23/06/2010 Egham, UK The event is being organised by the European Network of Excellence for Cryptology II (ECRYPT II). The event will reference the 'Indicative strategic research roadmap' provided by the European Commission and bring together the respective international scientific community to foster cooperative research in the field of educational sciences. During the first day of the conference, participants will receive first-hand information about the policy context, funding opportunities and forthcoming calls for proposals. A specific foresight session focuses on the societal need in 2020 and beyond, and corresponding research topics challenging educational sciences in the near future. Finally, coordinators of successful EU-funded projects in the field of educational sciences will share their experiences and their latest findings. On the second day, participants will have the opportunity to discuss, in parallel sessions, the topics and challenges faced by the educational sciences, focusing on the 'Indicative strategic research roadmap'. The results of the discussions will be provided to the European Commission as scientific input for the preparation of the forthcoming SSH work programmes. A matchmaking event, organised according to the conference topics, will serve as a basis of discussion during the parallel sessions and will, in turn, help with the setting up of FP7 project consortia. |
