01/02/2012 London The 2012 Intelligent Energy Europe (IEE) Call for Proposals was launched on 20th December 2011. The Call budget is 67M€ and the Call deadline is 8th May 2012. The Call is focused on defined priority areas and the Commission is seeking high quality, ambitious projects with significant European impact.
The IEE Programme aims to tackle non-technological barriers to the uptake of energy efficiency measures and renewables. The programme cannot fund technological research and demonstration activity. A factsheet that sets out the key requirements for IEE proposals is attached. The UK Information Day on the IEE Programme 2012 Call for Proposals will take place in London on Wednesday 1st February 2012. The event will start at 10am and will finish by 2.30pm.
The presentations at the UK Information Day will cover topics including:
· the 2012 Call priorities
· the administrative and financial arrangements
· tips on how to prepare a successful proposal
The UK Information Day is free to attend, is funded by DECC and organised by the EU Energy Focus team.

Grants worth over 127M€ will be available from the Commission’s ICT Policy Support Programme following its next call in early February for real world deployment pilots. These will demonstrate and assess the utility and long term viability of ICT based services in these areas, which are described in The Commission Workprogramme .
The principal speaker at this free event will be Loris di Pietrantonio from DGINFSO, European Commission, who will explain the Workprogramme and the associated processes. Further speakers will describe their experiences of participating in existing projects, together with the proposal submission and evaluation processes in which they have been personally involved.
There will be ample opportunity for questions and answers, networking and sharing of ideas.
The event is open to delegates from other countries and follows the Commission Information Day that is scheduled to take place on 3 February in Brussels.

The Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) in Scotland supported by Scottish Enterprise and the Scottish Life Sciences Industry Association (SLA) will host its 2012 Life Sciences Scotland company partnering event on the afternoon of Thursday 9th of February 2012 at the EICC in Edinburgh.
The day will commence at 12:30PM with a networking lunch sponsored by The Scottish Life Sciences Industry Association.
In parallel to the B2B partnering Enterprise Europe Network Scotland will run information surgeries on European Funding Opportunities, specifically the TSB Eurostars programme and FWP7 2012 Health call.
The EEN Scotland partnering event will offer innovative Scottish Life Sciences companies an opportunity to debate, collaborate and innovate with potential partners from Scotland, UK and Europe.
The Partnering is open to delegates from any life sciences sector in any country and will focus on one-to-one 20-minute pre-scheduled company meetings. Last year's event attracted companies from throughout Europe and across the world, including Belgium, France, Germany, Portugal, Spain Greece and USA. Over 150 meetings were held on the day, with very positive feedback.

The event will include an overview of IMI's funding and intellectual property rules, tips and testimonies from people involved in ongoing IMI projects. There will also be a presentation of the Fifth IMI Call topic 'European lead factory: Joint European compound library and screening centre'. The event programme will also include networking opportunities and information sessions with IMI staff.
